Megalac - rumen-protected fat ingredient composed of a combination of natural plant oil (palm fatty acids) and calcium. The calcium protects the fatty acids from breaking down in the rumen, so they pass intact to the acidic lower gut for digestion. Megalac provides dairy cows with more energy for milk than any other feed ingredient (Net Energy of Lactation measurements on file).
Megalac Plus - The Megalac manufacturing technique enables Megalac Plus to deliver highly cost-effective protected methionine into dairy cow rations, both in home mixes on farm and via feed compounder products.
Megapro - a calcium salt of palm fatty acids co-processed with double zero rapeseed meal to increase the rumen by-pass protein to over 70%. This provides an effective combination of rumen-protected fat and protein. Research has shown that to optimise the benefits of protected energy in the dairy cow, a balanced supply of by-pass protein is also required.
Megapro Gold - Megapro Gold is produced in 5mm pellets and is composed of Megapro and whey permeate, which acts as a rumen ‘conditioner’ and provides a source of fermentable energy for the rumen microbes.
Lactofeed 70 - Lactofeed 70 is composed of whey permeate and Hipro soya bean meal. It is a free-flowing, easy to handle source of lactose ideal for feeding to ruminants. It supplies a readily fermentable energy source for use by the rumen microbes, with the advantage of a slower and more controlled fermentation than other traditional energy sources, such as wheat, barley and molasses.
MEGAFAT™ - has been developed by Volac using the world-proven Megalac® process technology, to deliver rumen protected C16:0 (palmitic) fatty acids in a calcium salt form.
