Brendan Smith, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, said recently that, while the Government is still committed to delivering Ireland's contribution to the target of a 20% reduction in the EU's greenhouse gas emissions by 2020, “making significant cuts from agriculture will be very difficult”. |

In a speech at a Poultry and Egg Conference, held by Bord Bia, in Monaghan yesterday, Minister for Agriculture Brendan Smith called for country of origin labelling for poultry, saying; “not alone do consumers want country-of-origin information in relation to poultry, but they deserve and are entitled to it.” |
