A protest was held by a large crowd of Kerry Group milk suppliers at the Kerry Group Headquarters in Prince’s Street, Tralee. The suppliers turned out in large numbers to make known their dissatisfaction at the Kerry Group's failure to lift its June and July milk price and at Kerry's movement down the milk price league and KPMG audit in recent years. |

Brendan Smith, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, announced today that his department will be implementing a temporary measure to help farmers affected by current weather conditions. Farmers in REPS 2 and REPS 3 will be assisted by this measure as they are normally required to have spread all the slurry produced during the winter housing period by 31 August. |
