Carrigaline Macra Na Feirme is an organization for anyone between the ages of 17 and 35. Macra caters for everyone! Whether you like sport - soccer, GAA, basketball, volleyball, uni-hoc, bowling etc. For all the budding actors and singers there are competitions such as drama, comedy, capers, macravision, solo singing, ballad group, instrumental music to name but a few. People that like to cook, carpentry and weld are also looked after while for those who like the sound of their own voice, like a good argument or think they know it all, there is debating, public speaking and question times and quiz's. On the farming side of  things farm tasks, stock judging (dairy, beef and sheep), know your ag and tractor tasks should wet your appetite.

If you are someone who is a bit shy but likes socializing, there are social events which enables you to meet more young people with similar interests and likes. Social events which Carrigaline Macra participated in the last 12 months include - Christmas party in Killarney, go-karting, bowling, cinema, paint-balling in Tralee, nights at the dogs and Galway races just to name but a few.

Macra is not just an organization for farmers or people from the country. Presently there are; solicitors, nurses, accountants, students, farmers, auctioneers, life guards, builders, factory workers, shop assistants and carpenters members of Carrigaline Macra so it covers a wide range and very diversified group of people.

UPCOMING EVENTS

NATIONAL CAPERS FINAL

Carrigaline Macra has successfully made it to the national capers final after an absence of ten years in not taking part in the competition. The five productions that made it through to the national final of this year's FBD Capers Competition were selected at two separate venues last Saturday fortnight ago, 24 th November. At Mountmellick Macra Hall in Laois, the cast and crew of productions from Laois (Mountmellick club), Carbery (rainbow production), Meath (Kilcloon club), Seandun (Carrigaline club) and Waterford (Kilmacthomas club) battled it out for a place in the final, while up in Louth, on the same evening, Roscommon (Tarmonbarry club), Louth (Termonfeckin club), Meath (Athboy club) and Laois (Camross club) took to the stage in Tullyallen Parish Hall in the hope of securing a place in the final.

The five productions selected to compete at the final in Carrigtwohill Hall in Cork on 8th December were: Termonfeckin (Louth), Athboy (Meath), Mountmellick (Laois), Kilcloon (Meath) and Carrigaline (Seandun).

The overall winning production will be awarded ten places on the Macra Na Feirme prize winners' trip abroad next year. Please contact Ann Roche on 086-3953573 to book your tickets for Saturdays night's venue. We wish the Carrigaline cast the very best of luck in the final!

 

SEANDUN MYSTERY TOUR

Seandun macra's christmas party is once again a mystery tour taking place on the 15th of December. All are most welcome and a good night has always come from these mystery nights out. Collection from Little Chef at 7.30, from Sars Glanmire at 8.00 and from Buckley's Whitechurch at 8.30 and heading to....????

CHRISTMAS RAFFLE

Carrigaline's christmas raffle will take place on the 23rd of december in Bridgies bar Ballygarvan. Please support this raffle as it is one of the clubs main sources of raising funds. Tickets will be available at next club meeting or from any officer.
