On www.grainlegumes.com you will find detailed information about AEP. The European Association for Grain Legume Research, is an internationally-active network of scientists and end-users concerned with grain legumes (peas, faba beans, lupins, chickpeas, lentils, Phaseolus beans, etc.). Although internationaly active, AEP is European-based.

The prdominent grain legumes that are currently grown in Europe are: chickpeas, faba beans, lentils, lupins, peas and phaseolus beans. Their agronomic benefits are long recognised in cropping systems and the nutritional value of their seeds is appreciated for both animal feed and human consumption. Although there has been massive development of these crops since the 1980s, they are still relatively new crops and have yet to improve their competitiveness compared with other major crops such as cereals or oil crops.

AEP's objective is to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration among scientists and partners over the range of activities from production to the end user. AEP provides them with platforms for exchanges and services.
