Michael Maguire, IFA Pigs Chairman, has said that information gathered from the market shows that processors are getting 20% more for pigmeat products compared to January 08, yet they have only increased pig prices by 13%. |

Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food with responsibility for fisheries and forestry, Mr. Tony Killeen T.D., opened the 'Bioenergy 2008' event yesterday in Athenry, Co. Galway. The purpose of the event, being held in conjunction with 'Farm Fest 08' and jointly organised by Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI), COFORD and Teagasc, is to promote the use of solid biomass and raise awareness across all sectors from landowner to end user of the many uses and advantages in growing, harvesting and using wood fuels and energy crops for energy generation. |
